This article gives some good tips on getting your home ready for sale. It’s not exhaustive as it doesn’t include what you should consider repairing, but it’s a good list of high impact basics. A few things I would add to each category:
- In section 1, it calls for removing all personal photos. I agree in general, but don’t do so to the point where walls look bare or photos removed from walls create light spots in the paint or big holes from hanger anchors.
- In section 2 it talks about curb appeal including the door, and I agree. To add on to that, I would strongly consider painting the front door. It’s the first up-close impression that the potential buyer will have and a newly painted door can help that first impression greatly!
